A Democrat Party-list MP was acquitted of electoral fraud and two Democrats from Ubon Ratchathani were yellow carded, vacating their House seats but allowed to run in the by-election, Election Commission secretary general Suthiphon Thaveechaigarn said Tuesday.
The five-member EC decided by the unanimous vote to drop the electoral fruad case against Democrat Withoon Ngambutr who holds party-list seat from the Northeast.
Withoon's favourable ruling was based on the grounds of insufficient evidence, Suthiphon said.
In regard to a combined case involving Supachai Srila and Wuthipong Nambutr, the EC ruled to disqualify the two for campaign violations although it allowed them to seek the by-election bids because they were not....
