Commerce Ministry plans Bt5 taxi discounts

Consumers can expect three months of low-price shops and five-baht taxi discounts if the Commerce Ministry's latest plans to cut living costs in these tough times go through.

Ways of lowering costs would be discussed at a meeting with food and goods enterprises and taxi drivers this Friday as part of the ministry's new Blue Flag scheme, a ministry source said.

The scheme will use some of the additional Bt1 billion the ministry was allocated as part of the government's Bt116.7-billion mid-year economic injection.
