Mae Sot hit by floods

Following hours of heavy rain since Friday night, forest floodwater yesterday morning ravaged many areas of Tak's Mae Sot district, including the Muang Mae Sot Municipality where 30,000 residents suffered nearly 1.5-metre-deep flood.With many roads and residential areas submerged, the Mae Sot police station also had to evacuate detainees from its holding cell due to rising water. Local officials were dispatched to aid affected residents with relief bags and help them build sandbag walls.
