The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has promised to bring its publichealth system up to international standards and establish a medical centre for elderly residents.
Deputy BMA Governor Malinee Sukvejvorakij announced the plans Tuesday.
The centre will bring together BMA hospital doctors, nurses and publichealth officials to give advice on things like healthy eating and safe mobility to people entering retirement age. This would help them lead betterquality lives and ease the burden on society, said Malinee. The BMA will also set up a hospice to care for seriously ill seniors at the end of their lives, she said.
